Высокая популярность люминесцентных светильников в России (и во всём мире) обуславливается значительными преимуществами люминесцентных ламп по сравнению с традиционными лампами накаливания. Во-первых, это большая светоотдача, в несколько раз превышающая соответствующее значение для лампы накаливания той же мощности. Во-вторых, длительный срок службы: примерно в 20 раз больше, чем у обычных ламп. К преимуществам люминесцентных ламп можно также отнести рассеянный свет и большое разнообразие его оттенков. Благодаря этому люминесцентные светильники нашли широкое применение для освещения школ, больниц, офисов, вестибюлей и других помещений большой площади.

В ассортименте МПО «Электромонтаж» имеются модели потолочных светильников как зарубежного производства (Philips), так и российского (Световые технологии, ПФ Дельта, Ардатовский СТЗ). Светильники предназначены для люминесцентных ламп мощностью 15 - 58 Вт.
